Meet Our Leadership Team

Philippe Clavel, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer
Philippe is the Chief Executive Officer of Curapath. He brings over 25 years of experience in chemical & pharmaceutical industry, with a specific focus on active pharmaceutical ingredient market (CDMO & Generics) and drug delivery solutions from R&D to commercial.
Philippe has an extensive track record not only with regards to business development and the creation of trustful partnerships in Europe / US / Japan but also in process development, industrialization, and continuous improvement.
Before joining Curapath, Philippe worked for 3 international companies with extensive development and manufacturing capabilities for pharmaceutical markets - Rhodia (now Solvay), Sanofi and Seqens - where he engaged and led global teams towards ambitious roadmaps and through challenging projects.
For instance, Philippe was instrumental to secure the complex supply chain of oligosaccharides obtained by total synthesis and developed as animal free alternatives to heparinoids to treat thrombosis, to accelerate the installation of new manufacturing solutions for the hypertension market in Japan facing Fukushima crisis, to create new capacities for viral vectors manufacturing to face growing patients’ needs, and to establish the appropriate industrial scheme for supporting the worldwide commercial launch of a breakthrough therapy for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Philippe received two awards from Sanofi for his entrepreneurship and partnership achievements. He graduated from the Engineering School of Physics and Chemistry of Bordeaux (now ENSMAC), and obtained his PhD at University of Bordeaux, funded by EDF and Rhône-Poulenc/Rhodia, for which he was awarded best PhD thesis of French Chemical Society (SFC).

Vicent J. Nebot, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer
Vicent is the Chief Technology Officer of Curapath. He brings more than 15 years of experience in the field of nanomaterials and drug delivery systems in both industry and academic settings, having co-authored more than 40 publications (including articles, book chapters and patents) in the field, and been awarded several grants as co-PI.
Before his time at Curapath, he was Research Co-Investigator at Centro de Investigación Príncipe Felipe (CIPF). Vicent is an expert in polypeptide-based systems, soft materials, supramolecular chemistry, and physico-chemical characterization with a special focus on CMC development of drug nanomedicines and their regulatory aspects.
Vicent obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry and Material Science, funded by Procter & Gamble, from Universidad Jaume I de Castellón in 2012.
After a post-doctoral period of 3 years at Polymer Therapeutics Laboratory, headed by Dr. Maria J. Vicent, Vicent joined PTS as a researcher awardee of Torres Quevedo Spanish Ministry Program. He also participated in MIT Sloan School of Management’s Entrepreneurship Development Program.

Nicolás Serra
Chief Financial Officer
Nicolas is the Chief Financial Officer for Curapath. Nicolas is a seasoned financial executive with 15+ years of experience in dynamic and fast-paced environments across multiple sectors and countries.
He started his career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers Paris before joining DB Schenker Rail as Head of Finance & Accounting. More recently, he served as a Chief Financial Officer and Board Member of Telamon Shipping, Dragon Investors, Nice Tech, and NDCV.
Nicolas has developed a deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning and has acquired expertise in optimizing and automating processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
In addition, he has extensive experience building and leading high-performing cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, driving change initiatives, and implementing best practices.
Nicolas obtained his MSc in Business Administration at Kedge Business School in 2006.

Jose Arlandis
Chief Operating Officer
Jose is the Chief Operating Officer of Curapath. He brings more than 15 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and business transformation across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and advanced technology sectors.
Throughout his career, he has successfully led global teams, scaled operations, and implemented continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and business performance.
Before joining Curapath, Jose held senior leadership positions at BBI Solutions, Mundipharma, Fluidic Analytics, Sanofi, and Kern Pharma, where he was responsible for driving operational excellence, manufacturing performance, and organizational transformation.
At Curapath, he leads the company’s operational strategy, supporting the successful development and GMP manufacturing of advanced non-viral drug delivery systems.
Jose holds an MBA and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), combining technical expertise with strong business and operational leadership.

Daniel Van Slochteren
Chief Information Officer
Daniel is the Chief Information Officer of Curapath. An all-round senior executive, he brings almost 20 years of experience in leadership positions across the digital world, having held a range of roles spanning CIO, CTO, CCO, and Managing Director through to CEO.
His core focus areas are cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and fintech, fields in which he has also carried out several studies in collaboration with academia.
Alongside his executive career, Daniel serves on a number of advisory boards, including his advisory board position in Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
At Curapath, he leads the company’s information, data, and digital strategy, strengthening the technological foundation that supports its growth as a CDMO in non-viral drug delivery.
Management Team

Carles Felip, Ph.D.
Senior Director of Sales & Marketing
Carles is the Senior Director of Sales & Marketing at Curapath. He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Applied and Pharmacological Chemistry, bringing more than 10 years of experience in nanomedicine, drug delivery, and advanced therapeutics.
Since joining Curapath in 2018, he has played a key role in expanding the company’s expertise in non-viral delivery technologies and strengthening its position in the drug delivery and nanomedicine space. With more than 15 peer-reviewed publications and over 5 patents, Carles combines scientific expertise with a strong commercial mindset to support innovative therapeutic programs and identify new market opportunities.
Having worked closely with biotech and pharmaceutical companies across programs from early development to clinical stages, Carles brings a unique understanding of both the scientific and commercial aspects of drug development, helping clients define effective development and manufacturing strategies.
In his current role, Carles leads Curapath’s commercial activities, focusing on business growth, strategic partnerships, and customer engagement across the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.

José María Gallardo Robles
Supply Chain & Procurement Director
José María is the Supply Chain & Procurement Director at Curapath. He brings more than 15 years of international experience in operations, supply chain management, and industrial project execution within the pharmaceutical and technology sectors.
Before joining Curapath, he held several leadership roles at Nice Tech, including Head of Operations and Head of Supply Chain, managing facilities across the Philippines, Morocco, Mexico, and Spain. Earlier in his career, he led large-scale industrial plant projects and served as Project Manager at AKO and later at SURIS.
José María holds an Executive MBA from ESADE Business School and has completed executive education at HEC Paris. His combined expertise in engineering, procurement, and executive leadership enables him to drive supply chain innovation and support Curapath’s mission to deliver cutting-edge non-viral delivery technologies.

Ángeles Paredes Cosme
Director of Finance
Ángeles is Finance Director at Curapath. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Valencia and brings more than 30 years of experience as Head of Finance in national and international companies across the technology, automotive, automation, and import-export sectors, as well as in financial consulting.
Since joining Curapath in 2021, she has been instrumental in developing the Finance Department, implementing new financial and accounting processes and procedures to strengthen the company’s structure.
With solid expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, treasury management, taxation, auditing, and management control, Ángeles combines strong analytical skills with a collaborative approach. Her strategic and results-driven mindset ensures sound financial management, enabling Curapath to sustain growth while meeting both operational and long-term business objectives.

Jose Conejos
Director of Operations
Jose is Operations Director at Curapath. Jose brings over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical field, working in Operations and Quality. He is a pharmacist with a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Industry and a Master's in Biomedical Biotechnology.
Before joining Curapath, he spent over five years as an inspector for the Spanish Health Authorities assessing the GMP compliance of commercial Drug Substances and Drug Products manufacturers.
Since he joined Curapath, he has led the creation and implementation of the quality system from scratch, organized the manufacturing departments according to GMP standards, and led the construction of Curapath’s GMP facilities for both Drug Substances and Sterile Drug Products.

Sergio Abad, Ph.D.
Senior Director of Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT)
Sergio is the Senior Director of Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) at Curapath. He is a chemist by training and holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
With more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, Sergio has led the development, validation, scale-up, and technology transfer of manufacturing processes and analytical methods for novel active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and drug products.
Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals, polymer-based therapeutics, and other advanced pharmaceutical products, supporting their progression from early development through clinical and commercial stages.
Since joining Curapath in 2016, Sergio has held roles of increasing responsibility and has been instrumental in establishing the company’s Quality Control capabilities, Operations, and technical operations infrastructure.
In his current role, Sergio leads MSAT activities across client programs, providing strategic and technical oversight for process development, scale-up, technology transfer, GMP manufacturing, process characterization, validation, and commercial readiness. He works closely with clients to ensure the successful translation of innovative therapies from early feasibility through late-stage development and commercialization.

Aroa Duro, Ph.D.
Development Director
Aroa is a chemist by training and holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. She brings more than 10 years of experience in drug delivery and polymer science. She joined Curapath in 2021 and currently serves as Director of Development.
Aroa did her PhD at the CIPF in Valencia at the Polymer Therapeutics Lab self-funded with a fellowship from the national scheme. Then, she moved to the Molecular Bionics Lab at UCL London for a postdoctoral experience, first with the competitive Newton International Fellowship from the Royal Society of the UK, and later with a Marie Curie Fellowship from the European Commission.
Her scientific background has provided her with vast experience in project management, supervisory responsibilities, and successful grant applications. She counts more than 30 publications, including patents and research monographs.
Since joining Curapath through the Torres Quevedo Program from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Aroa has played a key role in strengthening and expanding the company’s development capabilities, supporting the advancement of innovative drug delivery technologies and client programs.

Juan José Arroyo, Ph.D.
CMC Program Management Director
Juan José is the Director of CMC Program Management at Curapath. He holds an M.Sc. in Supramolecular Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biomedicine, with more than 10 years of experience in nanomedicine and advanced drug delivery systems.
Throughout his career, he has contributed to the development of innovative therapeutics, spanning formulation development, characterization, preclinical evaluation, and CMC strategy, and has authored more than 10 peer-reviewed publications.
Since joining Curapath in 2019, Juan José has led the execution of complex development programs from early research through clinical manufacturing and regulatory submissions. His multidisciplinary background enables him to effectively coordinate development, manufacturing, analytical, quality, and regulatory activities across the product lifecycle.
In his current role, Juan José leads CMC program management activities, supporting clients in the development and advancement of innovative therapies from preclinical stages through clinical development.
